REPORTS TO/TERM:
PrincipalThis is a full time 10-month position.
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Foreign Language Teachers to join our team.
As a Foreign Language Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching foreign language courses to students of all ages and levels.
You will be expected to create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to develop their language skills and cultural awareness.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the needs of students at different levels of proficiency.
Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and promote language learning.
Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide language programs and initiatives.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in language teaching.
Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data, providing daily feedback, weekly assessments, and occasional parent/teacher conferencesWork with the Special Education teachers and administration to serve special needs students in the classroomAttend all required staff meetings and attend designated school functions outside of school hoursEstablish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsibleAccept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff Perform necessary duties including but not limited to morning, lunch, dismissal, and after-school dutiesPerforms other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the principal This job description is not an exhaustive list of duties to be performed and may be changed at any time.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Foreign Language Education or related field.
VALID INDIANA PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR OR INITIAL PRACTITIONER LICENSE.
SUBSTITUTE LICENSES & EMERGENCY PERMITS CANNOT BE ACCPETED.
Fluency in the target language and English.
Experience teaching foreign language courses to students of all ages and levels.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
Knowledge of current language teaching methodologies and best practices.
